About Sankt-Peterburg

Sankt-Peterburg atau Saint Petersburg adalah salah satu kota federal di Rusia. Kota ini didirikan pada 27 Mei 1703 oleh Tsar Peter yang Agung dan dinamai berdasarkan Rasul Petrus. Sankt-Petersburg pernah diganti namanya menjadi Petrograd (1914–1924) dan Leningrad (1924–1991) tetapi akhirnya setelah Uni Soviet runtuh, nama tersebut kembali menjadi Sankt-Petersburg hingga saat ini. Kota ini menggunakan zona waktu UTC+3 mengikuti Zona Waktu Moskow. Sankt-Peterburg sekarang adalah pusat pemerintahan Oblast Leningrad walaupun memiliki status sebagai kota federal. Kota ini adalah kota pelabuhan yang terletak di tepi Sungai Neva dan Teluk Finskiy. Penduduknya berjumlah 5.601.911 jiwa berdasarkan sensus tahun 2021. Di kota ini mengalir lebih dari 40 sungai dan kira-kira 20 kanal.
