About Dushanbe

Dushanbe, adalah ibu kota Tajikistan. Nama kota ini berasal dari kata Persia yang bermakna "Senin" dan merujuk kepada fakta Dushanbe sebagai pasar hari "Senin" yang populer. Hingga 1929, kota ini dalam bahasa Rusia disebut Dyushambe (Дюшамбе) dan pada tahun 1929 hingga 1961 disebut Stalinabad (Сталинобод). Penduduk kota ini berjumlah 562.000 jiwa (2000).
